St. Charles hills are some of the best around to break out the sleds and bring the kids out for a morning/afternoon on the sleds for some easy, fast fun! Come check out the hills the St. Charles Park District has set up at Langum Park and Timber Trails Park for some safe, fun hills that all can enjoy!
Ice Skating & Hockey
Bring a pair a skates and enjoy some skating right in downtown St. Charles!
When it comes to ice skating, St. Charles has some of the best options around. For ice skating, check out the lighted ice rinks at Davis Park, Timber Trails Park and at Lincoln Park in downtown St. Charles! Lincoln Park is one of the best for families as you can go have some fun skating then head right down the street to great restaurants such as the Filling Station, Alley 64, Billy Bricks or The Hive.
If you are looking for a snack or treats instead, visit Mad Batter Bakery for sweet, tasty treats or head over to Rocket Fizz and dazzle your kids with their huge amount of candy.
Cross Country Skiing and Snow Shoeing
Cross Country Skiing and Snow Shoeing are available on any of the St. Charles Park District Trails once the snow falls. Check out the Great Western Trail, Leroy Oakes Forest Preserve or head to Hickory Knolls Forest Preserve or Primrose Farm for snowshoe rentals!
Brews in a Bubble
Looking to take advantage of having craft brews in one of their cool outdoor bubbles? Head over to Alter Brewing + Kitchen to enjoy craft brews in your own private space! Space is limited so be sure to reserve in advance if you want to enjoy a private space before they are taken down. Alter Brewing’s food menu has tasty selection that pairs fantastically with their craft beer so it’s a no-brainer for a great dinner!
Ways to Warm Up
Stay warm in a variety of ways here! One of the easiest is to find some of the best hot chocolate and hot beverages around! Arcedium Coffeehouse, Coroco Coffee and Kava Diem are great spots for hot chocolate, coffee and other hot beverages and food, or if you want to grab some frozen yogurt and explore their six hot chocolate flavors, head to Forever Yogurt for a delicious hot cocoa and some frozen yogurt with your favorite toppings and flavors!
