What a Scarecrow Fest!

It’s hard to believe but we are already a week past the 2021 Scarecrow Fest! The weekend was a blur of fun getting see everyone enjoy all of not only what Scarecrow Fest had to offer, but the St. Charles community as well. Come see some of the highlights from the weekend and get ready for what’s going to come for the 2022 Scarecrow Fest!

We saw families have a a blast getting to see the wide variety of creative entries in our Scarecrow Contest. This year we saw 87 scarecrows throughout town looking their scariest, silliest and best.

Scarecrows were placed all throughout downtown St. Charles for people to enjoy!

Families got to enjoy the best weather on Saturday to find the Scarecrows. And even though we had rain, it eventually cleared and even gave a rainbow to look at over the Scarecrows!

Even though we had some rain, there was still sun and fun to be had at Scarecrow Fest!

All the entries were fantastic, especially the winners in each of the four categories! Visit our Facebook Page to see Mayor Vitek’s announcement on the winner’s of this year’s Scarecrow Contest!

Besides the Scarecrow Contest, we had a whole bunch around town! We had the Family Zone up at Lincoln Park, where families could find music, entertainment – such as Glowby the Bubbler or magician Scott Piner – and tents hosting kid-friendly activities like face painting, pumpkin decorating and more.

We also had the Photo Op area and Make Your Own Scarecrow on Riverside Avenue where you could get a nice fall photo or get your Make a Scarecrow Kit to take home and make your very own scarecrow! Or if you walked over to the Municipal building, you could get a fun picture in our fall and Scarecrow Fest themed Peek-A-Boards!

Over at Pottawatomie Park, the Autumn on the Fox Craft Fair was a huge hit. People could find amazing handcrafted goods and even some food! There was lots to find there!

And of course, our businesses didn’t miss out on the weekend and even took part with offering great deals, specials and more for people to enjoy. People loved the special brews at our breweries, the Oh My Gourd ice cream at Kimmer’s Ice Cream, the Discount Rack at Jeans and a Cute Top Shop and so much more.

People loved the great finds at Jeans and a Cute Top Shop! There was plenty more to find in our businesses!

We hope you had a chance to get out to Scarecrow Fest this year! If you didn’t, we hope you can come be apart of the fun that’s to come in 2022. There’s so much more to enjoy in the meantime, such as all the great fall activities here. Check out ideas on what fall activities you should do and how to Come Fall in Love with St. Charles!
