Alright, so you already know that you want to plan a Weekend trip to St. Charles, but the next step is the toughest: how can I make the most of my time in the city? That's where we come in. We've put together an itinerary filled with ideas on activities, dining options, and more to take part in while you're in town. That way, you can spend more time enjoying yourself, and less time planning.
Day 1
Head to your Hotel

Prepare for the best service you’ll find in the area with our pristine exemplary hotels such as as the historic Hotel Baker that is located right downtown on the Fox River, within walking distance of ample shopping, dining, and attractions. There are a total of 11 hotels to choose from in St. Charles.
Enjoy a Meal on 1st Street

Now that you're all settled in, your probably a bit hungry from traveling. For food, take a stroll through 1st Street to find a bite that sounds ideal, with many restaurants including McNally's Irish Pub & Grill, La Za' Za' Trattoria, Gia Mia, moto imoto, Alter Brewing + Kitchen, and La Mesa Modern Mexican. Hike at a Forest Preserve

One of the very best ways to experience all the natural beauty in St. Charles is by simply taking a hike! After breakfast, visit a Forest Preserve in town, such as LeRoy Oakes or Hoscheit Woods to take a leisurely stroll. Not only will you be doing something great for your health, but you'll be amazed on just how many plants and wildlife call this town home.
Listen to Live Music

St. Charles is known for it's frequent live music. So much so, that just about any night of the week, you can find a local establishment hosting some very talented musicians. To make finding these performances easier, we went ahead and made an updated weekly list, so you can find that perfect performance to enjoy during the first night of your weekend getaway. Day 2
Start Your Morning with Breakfast
Complete an Escape Room

Looking for a challenge? Gather your friends and family and head to iPanic Escape Room in order to solve puzzles and search for clues in order to escape from one of their many themed rooms! The various levels have different difficulty, but it's recommended that participants are older than 14.
Brush Up on St. Charles History

After a good breakfast, take a walk-through history in downtown St. Charles using the self-guided St. Charles Historic Walking Tour. Afterwards, stop by the St. Charles History Museum to learn more about this city's beginnings. Then, on your way out, make sure to stop by the Curious Fox Gift Shop to pick up a St. Charles keepsake so that you always remember your time here in this city.
Participate in a Challenge

Dine at La Za' Za' Trattoria

Enjoy the last meal of the day at La Za' Za' Trattoria an upscale Italian steakhouse serving St. Charles for over 30 years. Za' Za's has a large menu with dishes such as pasta, steaks, and more, including their renowned whitefish dish - Pesce Bianco alla Spinaci. You do not want to leave this town without having a meal at this cherished St. Charles staple.
Day 3
Start the Day with Donuts
To kick-off the last day of the trip, stop by Made in St. Charles Recipient Brown Butter Cafe & Bakery for their mouth-watering gluten free donuts! Every bite that you take simply melts in your mouth, making it impossible to have just one. In addition to the donuts, they also service a variety of other breakfast and lunch items, and thirst-quenching coffee beverages to help get your day started on the right foot. Explore the Fox River

Trust us, if you don't get a chance to experience all that the Fox River has to offer before you leave St. Charles, you'll regret it. From kayaking and Pedal Boating, to even a scenic Paddlewheel Riverboat rides, there are plenty of ways that you can get on the water and experience the beauty that the natural amenity offers. While you are here in town, it would be a tragedy if you didn't immerse yourself with the performance arts in town. With first-class theatres like the Historic Arcada Theatre, Steel Beam Theatre, Marquee Youth Stage, Hunt House Creative Arts Center, and Moonlight Theatre, not to mention top-notch theatre groups like Kane Repertory Theatre, St. Charles is the place to be when the act begins!
