Grab your best witches' hat, or your favorite spine-tingling costume because it's almost time for Halloween. St. Charles has tons of events going on throughout the community during this season, and we are going to let you in on some great activities that will get you in the spooky spirit.

Hop on your broom and fly over to Trend + Relic on Thursday, October 27th from 6pm to 9pm, and take part in their "Witches' Night Out" where you can find drinks, desserts, giveaways, and much more. Don't forget to wear your witch's hat to be eligible for a curated gift basket by the owner, Karri. You can get linked with some permanent jewelry from Lenny Lou, or if you want to look in to the future, you can even have your tarot cards read by local witch, Miss Annie Hex.

Head south of the border to La Mesa Modern Mexican's 21 and over "Dia de Muertos" party on Thursday, October 27th starting at 6pm. No party is complete without food and drinks, and they certainly will have that covered with tequila tastings and an all you can eat taco bar. There will also be music by DJ Romeo, adult face painting, and a costume contest! Tickets are $45 per person and they are going fast, so be sure to secure yours here.

Swing by the Alibi Bar & Grill on Friday, October 28th from 7pm to 2am for a great opportunity to show off your scariest Halloween costume at "The Darkest Halloween Costume Party". This party is free to enter, and they will be offering drink specials throughout the night, along with live music by DJ the Joker.

Spooky cocktails, music, dancing, and a costume contest - everything you'd look for in a fantastic Halloween party! Mixology Salon & Spa will be offering all of this at their "Boos & Brews" Halloween party on Friday, October 28th from 7pm to 1am. Put your best costume on and lace up your dancing shoes to get ready for a night full of fun and thrills while you listen to music by DJ Zyn. This event is 21 and older, and there is a $10 entry fee at the door.

Experience Throwback Sports Bar's "A Night to Dismember" on Friday, October 28th from 9:30pm to 1:30am. Throw on a chilling Halloween costume and enter their contest for a chance to win a gift card! Grab some food and a delicious apple pie shot, and listen to their DJ that will be playing all your spooky favorites!

The Arcada Theatre is having a free showing of Hotel Transylvania on October 29th at 10am. Stick around after the movie because from 12pm to 2pm, they are hosting a "Halloween Bash" where you can eat, drink, and be scary. There will be face painting, a balloon artist, a live DJ, and a chance to win a pizza party for your entire family!

Celebrate Halloween with the whole family at the first ever "Pond-O-Ween!" at Aquascape on Saturday, October 29th from 2pm to 3pm. This event is perfect for kids and adults alike, as there will be trick-or-treating stations throughout the store and in the Aquagardens. There will also be a story time, snacks, and hot chocolate! Don't forget to wear your costume, too!

D&G Brewing is celebrating the right way at their Halloween party on Saturday, October 29th at 5pm. Kicking off the event is Biker Dude Burgers that will be serving up some tasty burgers. Then at 6, you can catch some live music by Jim Green. Be sure to dress up because at 7pm they will be picking the best costumes and giving prizes to the winners.

On Saturday, October 29th from 5pm to 9pm, Kava Diem presents their "Halloween Mixer". This is the perfect opportunity to get into the Halloween spirit, as there will be delicious food, spooky music, and of course, tons of fun. This event does require a ticket and you can purchase yours here.

Riverlands Brewing is hosting their 21 and older "Halloween Bash" again this year on Saturday, October 29th from 7pm to 11pm, and it's going to be scary fun. With a costume contest with awesome prizes, devilishly good food by Hippie Gourmet Grilled Cheese Company, and beer specials that include a new Halloween beer release, this is not going to be a party you'll want to miss.

Dig up your very best 90's themed costume for Evergreen Pub & Grill's "Halloween Smash" on Saturday, October 29th at 7pm. Listen to alternative, grunge, and all that 90's rock performed by Rex Manning Day. This is a great chance to have some tasty food and drinks and jam out while you get into the Halloween mood.

It's time to get your best costume ready for the "R House of Horror" on Saturday, October 29th at 8pm. You're not going to want to miss this party, with music by DJ Bobby Styles, a pumpkin patch pop-up, and fall drinks to sip on. There are cash prizes for the top costumes, so make sure to show up with the spookiest outfit you can find!

We have all the "buzz" about the Hive Tavern & Eatery's 2nd annual costume party on Saturday, October 29th at 8:30pm. This event is going to be a blast, with live music until 11:30pm, and prizes for first, second, and third place in the costume contest. Group, solo, and couple costumes are welcome! They are announcing the winners at midnight, so be sure to stick around.

A mystery is afoot at The Lewis, and they need your help on Saturday, October 2th at 9pm. This "Death of a Gangster" murder mystery night requires you to help solve this crime at The Lewis, so bring your best detective skills. Tickets are required for the event and can be purchased here. Each ticket includes three cocktails of your choosing, participation in the mystery and gratuity.

Looking for some more mystery this Halloween season? Look no further than the Arcada Theatre's "Murder Mystery Night" on Sunday, October 30th at 5pm. Right at 5pm, you get a delicious buffet dinner consisting of garden salad, cheese ravioli, Ron's famous meatballs, bread, cookies and cannoli. At 6pm, it's time to start solving the crime, so be sure to put on your detective hats! Tickets are $55 per person and can be bought here.

What's Halloween without a good scare? The Gallery of Ghoulish Homes Tour gives you the opportunity to see some of the spookiest homes in the Fox Valley. The tour began on October 14th and it goes through Halloween night. It's the spookiest to see in the evening, so we recommend going between dusk and 10pm.
