Explore Volunteering with the St. Charles Business Alliance

Is your New Year’s Resolution to volunteer or get more involved with your community? Then the St. Charles Business Alliance has some amazing opportunities to help you reach those goals! Since our organization is volunteer-driven, we need people of all backgrounds to help with everything from our events to our committees, which include the Marketing & Promotions Committee, Organization Committee, Business Development & Sales Committee, and Events Committee. Information on when the committees meet and some brief information can be found here.

Come take the quiz and see where you fit today!

If you want to get involved in our committees but aren’t sure on which one you’d like to be a part of, take our buzzfeed-style quiz to see which committee would align with your interests. Or contact us at info@stcalliance.org and we would love to see how we can get you involved!

We understand too that joining a committee can seem like too big of a plunge, so we’ve made it simple for you to volunteer and have a voice! Explore our St. Charles Volunteer Voices, where you can submit feedback on what you think can be improved in our events or organization. We want your voice and suggestions on how we can make St. Charles and our events the best it can be!

But don’t just take it from us on why you should get involved. You can see the benefits of volunteering with us from the photo above or take it from our volunteers who love volunteering with us. Doug Denz is a volunteer on our Marketing & Promotions Committee and Tracy Minnec is the chair of our Organization committee. They had this to say on volunteering with the Alliance:

1.What made you want to volunteer with the Alliance?

“I volunteered out of pure love for our community and wanting to not only try to give back in some way but help others to realize what STC has to offer as well.”

2.What are some of the positive things you’ve learned or gained in your time volunteering with the Alliance?

“In my time volunteering, I have not only made some lifelong connections but have helped to create memories for not only my family, but others as well. Seeing people enjoy our community as much as we do is what makes everything worth while.”

3.What would you say to someone that is interested in volunteering for the Alliance?

Being a part of the Business Alliance has given me the opportunity to participate in enriching our community while getting to spend time building relationships with people who share my same passion.

Tracy Minnec

1.What made you want to volunteer with the Alliance?

“It was Jenna and Laura that first got me involved in the Alliance. I have always been interested in somehow being involved with and giving back to this amazing city and truly making a positive impact. Because of my background in Corporate HR it was a great fit to join the Organization committee. A year after that I was asked to be the Chair – and it has been an exciting adventure!”

2.What are some of the positive things you’ve learned or gained in your time volunteering with the Alliance?

“First and foremost that I have developed an even deeper love and appreciation for what an amazing city St. Charles truly is. Really being involved not just as a business owner has really opened my eyes to everything that is goes into to enhancing the economic viability of St. Charles. What it takes to create and drive tourism, and especially all the hard work dedicated to the promoting of all the fabulous events year round!

3.What would you say to someone that is interested in volunteering for the Alliance?

“You will love it, you will want more, you will create beautiful memories, and you will be rewarded beyond measure!”
