You know the feeling - that first bite into a warm, juicy burger. There's not much better than that. In fact, the feeling is so good that they even made August 25th National Burger Day. Luckily, there are plenty of restaurants in St. Charles that can offer you that kind of experience. Here are some places in St. Charles that need to be on every burger-lover's radar.

We couldn't make a list about the top burgers in St. Charles without including the self-proclaimed "Best Burger in the Fox Valley Since 1988". The Filling Station Pub & Grill serves up half-pound sirloin burgers that come with your choice of homemade potato salad, hand cut French fries, homemade coleslaw or chips. Try the "Big Fill" which has grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and your choice of swiss, provolone, cheddar or pepper jack cheese.

The first things that usually come to mind when you hear the word "Wahlberg" is actors and boy bands. But, did you know that they can whip up some great burgers too? Paul Wahlberg opened up one of his famous burger joints, Wahlburgers, right here in St. Charles. The "Our Burger" has your typical burger toppings, but it also includes Paul's signature "Wahl Sauce" which adds some incredible flavor. They also feature a variety of other unique burgers including the "The Fiesta" that's topped with pepper jack cheese, fresh jalapenos, lettuce, smoked pepper salsa, chipotle mayo and pickles.

We all know that Alter Brewing + Kitchen crafts some fantastic brews, but did you also know that they dish up some really tasty food, including delicious burgers? Their "Alter Burger" consists of a half-pound brisket and short rib steak burger, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and Alter sauce. Their burgers come with coleslaw, French fries, or seasoned chips. While they always have some staple burgers on their menu, they occasionally offer burgers you can only get for a limited time, like their "Korean BBQ Burger".

There aren't many better combinations than burgers and sports, and at Rookie's All-American Pub & Grill you can get just that. Many of their burgers are named after sports terms, such as "The Monster of the Midway", that consists of two patties topped with double American Velveeta cheese, and double bacon, or the "Aaron Rodgers", which is topped with sharp cheddar cheese, cheese curds and crispy bacon. Keep an eye out for unbeatable deals, such as their occasional $1 burgers or 50% off burgers on Tuesdays.

You can't go wrong with any of the burgers from Crazy Fox Bar and Grille. They have six different burgers to choose from, and they are served with your choice of house-cut French fries or chips. The local favorite is the "Bacon Cheddar" which is topped with grilled onions, bacon and cheddar. They even offer some great deals, too. If you stop by on a Monday, you can grab a $5 burger that's topped with lettuce, raw onions and pickles.

Go see what the burger "buzz" is about at The Hive Tavern & Eatery. Their "Chef Burger" starts with a half-pound beef patty, and is topped with chef jam, white cheddar, pickled red onions, lettuce, tomato and a truffle aioli. Looking for some spice? Grab the "Stinger Burger" which is a half-pound burger topped with a fried egg, bacon, tomato, pepper jack cheese and chipotle aioli.

Urban Counter definitely knows what they're doing when it comes to making delectable burgers. From your classic burger topped with American cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, red onions and pickles, to burgers topped with cheese curds, bacon, arugula and garlic aioli, you won't be short of options. No, this isn't your typical work office - The Office Dining & Spirits features "The Office Burger", and it needs to be on the top of your list of things to try. This USDA Prime Angus Beef burger has smoked cheddar, red onion, arugula, tomato and eggbacon mayo. Their burgers are served with your choice of French fries, sweet potato fries, asian slaw, onion rings or a side salad.

All the burgers start with a half-pound angus beef patty, and then it's up to you to create your own burger masterpiece. Make sure to add their famous coleslaw, as well, for some fresh flavor.
