 In St. Charles, Illinois, there is an abundance of paths and trails that are just waiting to be explored. With all these beautiful routes, such as the Fox River Trail or the Great Western Trail, it's the perfect opportunity to lace up your running shoes, or to hop on a bike! Not only is the best way to take in all the nature around us, it's a great way to stay in shape, and improve one's overall health.

Miniature Golf

Try and shoot under par at the River View Miniature Golf Course at Pottawatomie Park. This 18-hole course is situated right by the Fox River and is filled with obstacles at each hole.

Sand Volleyball

Play a round of sand volleyball at the courts at the East Side Sports Complex. You can also get a game in at the Evergreen Pub & Grill and indulge in some delicious food afterwards.

Work on your backswing at one of the many tennis courts around St. Charles. The St. Charles Park District also offers programs and lessons for children and adults to get involved with.

With many pickleball courts in St. Charles, you won't have a hard time finding a place to work on your volley. The St. Charles Park District also offers leagues you can join so that you can put your skills to the test.

Disc Golf

This 9-hole, all par three disc golf course is located at James O. Breen Community ParkThe course features plenty of shade and a hilly terrain that makes for a fun, yet challenging round.

Situated by the beautiful Fox River is the Pottawatomie Golf Course. Designed by pioneer golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones Sr, this 9-hole course has challenges that includes an island green design.

Skate Park

Hop on your board and head to one of the skate parks in town at Mt. St. Mary Park, East Side Sports Complex, or River Bend Community Park. Only in-line skates and skateboards are permitted.

Mini golf or putt-putt, is a fun, family friendly activity that you can take part in in St. Charles.

Did you know that in 1997, the Pottawatomie Golf Course was the first 9-hole course to become a fully certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary? To keep this standing, the course goes through an examination every 3 years, focusing its efforts on the preservation of bird and wildlife native habitats.

MAKE A SPLASH!

St. Charles, Illinois has two water parks that are perfect to visit in order to beat the summer heat. These are great spots to have some fun, and to make a splash!

Swanson Pool

Cool off on a hot summer's day and jump in the water at Swanson Pool in Pottawatomie Park! Take advantage of all the amenities that they offer, including an activity pool, water slides, a sand play area, and much more.

Otter Cove Aquatic Park

Otter Cove Aquatic Park  is in James O. Breen Community Park, and is themed around the river otter and his friends. Not only can you enjoy the water using their slides, diving boards and lap lanes, but they also have a sand play area, and offer concessions for purchase.
